The river base at Barton Island was rebuilt around 1988 and continues to serve the present generation of members
Almost all those who had served 2nd Beeston as Group Scoutmaster
were present at the re-opening of these excellent facilies
From the right are Arthur Smedley, Bernard Highton, George Smedley, Bob Cox, Jim Davidson,
Chris Thompson, Mark Holliday, Fred Robinson, Ian Newman and the then current GSM, Mark Edgar
Revd. Arnold Otway and the Revd Arthur Rumble, then deceased, were the first to serve as GSM.
