Beeston Cricket Match - about 1900

Cricket Match c1900

This group of Beeston worthies have clearly been enjoying a friendly cricket match. We have dated it at around 1900 based on the apparent ages of some of those that are identified.

Most of the names were identified on the back of the framed original although the photocopy we now have is unfortunately indistinct in parts. The names we have are :

Standing:  Mr Barks, *, Mr Saywell, (four men - see below), "Dutch" Hallam, *, *, *, *, Tom Speed (Dairyman), *, F Wilkinson, Rufus Sisson
Seated at Table:  William Walker (Town Surveyor), Charles Stroud (Solicitor)
Seated in Front:  *, Joseph Kelham (Butcher), Aaron Burnham, Sidney Stone (Publican - "Greyhound"), Alfred Elliott (Publican - "Royal Oak"), Isaac (Ike) Thornhill (Tailor),
Albert Renshaw (Watchmaker), John Taylor (Grocer & Pork Butcher), Arthur Frost (Surgical Appliances), ? William Frettingham (Nurseryman), George Burnham (Joiner)

The group of four men amongst those standing is known to include Harry Price, the newsagent. Although the key appears to show him as the rightmost figure,
we believe he is the leftmost of the four, standing slightly forward of the others, just behind the man with the dog

Position your mouse pointer on any face to show the name

Any further suggestions for names or other information would be most welcome
