Ericssons Bowls Club Members - ? 1940s

Ericssons Bowls The jack and pair of woods on the grass in front of this group, tells us that these are members of Ericssons bowls club whose home rink was part of the sports ground, adjacent to the Beeston factory.

Standing on the back row, second from the right, is Hiram Crosland Firth who worked for almost all of his career as a key employee at Ericssons and took an active part, with his family, in the Baptist Church community in Beeston. Click HERE to read more about him and his family.

Written on the back of the above photograph, likely by Hiram Firth, was a list of eight names, all of them apparently Hiram's work colleagues. In all probability, this is a list of some of those who in the photograph although there is no real indication of where each is positioned - although, there is slight evidence that they might be the eight men on the back row, from the far left up to where Hiram stands. It is hoped that this will be solved by those who might recognise them. The names are:
