Beeston Fire Brigade - Coronation Party, 1953
|
A party held in the Tarren Hut at the Fire Station, Beeston to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953. This is evident from the decoration
on the cake and the wording in the paper hats.
This is one of several photographs with associated memories shared by Roger Brailsford who, as a child, lived at one of the Fire Service houses at the top of
Stoney Street where his father, Bill Brailsford, served as a firemen. He appears in this photograph, held by his father, with his mother, Joan Brailsford, in front,
next to the cake. Roger now lives in Australia.
None of the other individuals are identified currently. Let us know if you recognise any of them.
