This photograph of a group of girls at Nether Street School, Beeston who appear to be winners of an unknown competition

It was kindly supplied by Barbara Wagstaff (née Spouge) who is shown on the front row, 4th from left, holding the trophy.

Bill Newton has contacted us to correct the date (we had previously estimated it as 1955) and to tell us that his wife (then Sylvia Allen) was also part of the winning group but because she took the photograph she does not appear on it
