• Occupation: baker, assisting his father, at the time of the census in April 1881. ⁵⁸⁰ He was then living at 35 David Lane, Basford, Nottingham with his father, a recent widower and his aunt.

• Occupation: licenced victualler, at the time of the census in April 1891. ⁵⁸¹ He was then living with his wife and son at 3 Wollaton Road, Beeston, Notts. They employed a servant.

• Occupation: baker (on his own account), at the time of the census in March 1901. ⁵⁸² He was then living with his wife and five sons at 35 Davids Lane, Basford, Notts.

George married Sarah Ann B Burnham, daughter of Edward Burnham and Mary Bond, on 20 Feb 1887 in Hyson Green (St Pauls), Notts.⁶⁸ (Sarah Ann B Burnham was born Q2 1867 in Long Eaton, Derbys ^{330,331,332,333,334}.)
