• Occupation: manufacturer, at the time of the census in June 1841. ¹⁰ He was then living at Hounds Gate, Nottingham with his wife and eight children. They employed four domestic servants.

• Residence: Hounds Gate, Nottingham, at the time of the census in March 1851. ¹¹ He was then retired as a lace manufacturer and living with his wife and seven children. They employed two domestic servants

• Residence: Hounds Gate, Nottingham, at the time of the census in April 1861. ¹² He then continued to be retired as a lace manufacturer and was living with his wife and three daughters. They employed two domestic servants

• Residence: 75 & 73 Hounds Gate, Nottingham, at the time of the census in April 1871. ¹³ He then a widower and continued to be retired as a lace manufacturer, living with three of his daughters. He was also a Methodist Local Preacher. They employed two domestic servants

• Residence: 75 & 71 Hounds Gate, Nottingham, at the time of the census in April 1881. ¹⁴ He then a widower and continued to be retired as a lace manufacturer, living with two of his daughters. Another daughter was visiting her married sister in Middlesex. He was also a Wesleyan Local Preacher. They employed two domestic servants

• Probate, 9 Aug 1887, Nottingham Probate Registry. ⁹ His executors were Hanwell Holmes Carter, solicitor and William Rawson Carter, of Sheffield, wholesale grocer. His personal estate was valued at £7181 8s 1d.

William married Mary Holmes on 9 Jul 1826 in Sneinton (St Stephens), Notts.¹ (Mary Holmes was born circa 1801 in Old Basford, Notts ^15,16,17 and died Q4 1863 in Nottingham Registration District ¹⁸.)
