James married Eliza Bucknall, daughter of John Bucknall and Frances Lowe, on 4 Apr 1858 in Sneinton (St Stephens), Notts.⁵ (Eliza Bucknall was born circa 1836 in Beeston, Notts and was baptised on 1 May 1842 in Beeston Parish Church, Notts ¹⁰.)
