In 1871 she was descibed as housekeeper. Other nephews were also present at both times
• Occupation: inn keeper, by the time of the census in April 1891. 15 She was then keeping the Wheatsheaf on Main Street, Whetstone, Leicestershire. Three of her sister's sons were living with her.
Emma married Edward Dix, son of William Dix and Isabella Day, on 4 Apr 1854 in Beeston Parish Church, Notts.7 (Edward Dix was born on 4 Apr 1828 in Beeston, Notts 16,17,18,19, baptised on 6 Jul 1828 in Beeston Parish Church, Notts 20 and died Q3 1866 in Leicester Registration District 21.)
