• Occupation: file forger's manager employing 3 men and 6 boys, at the time of the census on April 1881. ¹²² He was then living wuth his wife and five children at 101 Cemetery Road, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorks. Another person, Charlotte Wilson, described as his mother, was also in the household

• Occupation: Managing Director of a file and cutlery Manufacturer, by the time of the census in March 1901. ³⁰⁷ He was then living with his wife and four of his unmarried children at Overdale, Drury Lane, Dore, Derbyshire. His married daughter, Gertrude, her husband Ernest Nutt and their first child was living in the household.
