• Residence: Birch Lane, Lenton, Notts, at the time of the census in March 1851. ⁵⁵ He was then described as a retired butcher and was living with his wife and their son William. Grand-daughter, Elizabeth Cressey was staying in the household.

James married Elizabeth Harpham on 2 Apr 1805 in Lenton Parish Church, Notts.⁵⁰ (Elizabeth Harpham was born in 1782 in Nottingham ^51,52.)
