• Occupation: agricultural labourer, at the time of the census in April 1871, Kirton, Lincolnshire. ⁴⁸⁴ where he was living with at Horse Shoe Lane with his wife, two children, a servant and two lodgers.

• Occupation: farmer, at the time of the census in April 1881, Kirton, Lincolnshire. ⁴⁸⁵ He was farming 13 acres with three labourers and liviving with his wife, seven children and a niece.

• Occupation: farmer and potato merchant, by the time of the census in April 1891. ⁴⁸⁶ He was then living at Spalding Road, Kirton, Lincs with his wife and four children.

• Occupation: farmer and merchant, at the time of the census in March 1901. ⁴⁸⁷ He and his wife, youngest daughter and a family visitor were then living at Sutterton Road, Kirton.

William married Sarah Ann *Unknown in 1871.⁴⁷⁸ (Sarah Ann *Unknown was born on 26 Mar 1842 in Algarkirk, Lincs,^{481,482,483,488} died on 7 Jan 1921 ⁴⁸³ and was buried in Kirton Cemetery, Lincs.)
