• Occupation: lace maker, at the time of the census in April 1881. ⁵⁶ He was then living on Chilwell Road, Beeston, Notts with his wife, six unmarried childred and his married daughter with her husband and daughter.

George married Elizabeth Jowett, daughter of Enoch Jowett and Jane Plackett, on 7 Jul 1850 in Radford (St Peter), Notts.⁴⁷ (Elizabeth Jowett was born circa 1828 in Breaston, Derbys ^{57,58,59,60,61} and was baptised on 15 Jun 1828 in Breaston, Derbys ⁶².)
