• Occupation: lace pattern leader, at the time of the census in March 1851. ¹³⁶ He was then living at Snowton Terrace, Lenton, Notts with his wife and three children. His brother Edward and his wife and child were also living in the household.

• Occupation: warper, at the time of the census in June 1841. ¹³⁷ He was then living with his parents at Denman St, Radford, Nottingham.

Samuel married Maria *Unknown. (Maria *Unknown was born circa 1826 in Mount Sorrel, Leics ¹³⁸.)
