• Occupation: brewer, at the time of the census in June 1841. ¹³⁷ He was then living with his parents at Denman St, Radford, Nottingham.

• Occupation: canteen keeper, at the time of the census in April 1861. ¹⁴³ He was then living with his wife and seven children at The Barracks, The Park, Nottingham.

• Occupation: brewer, at the time of the census in April 1891. ¹⁴⁶ He was then living with his wife and son at 47 Ilkeston Rd, Lenton, Notts. They had one boarder.

Alfred married Ann Jacques on 15 Jun 1841 in Radford (St Peter), Notts.³² (Ann Jacques was born circa 1819 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leics ^147,148.)
