• Education: Trinity College, Cambridge, 1864-1871. 4 Adm. pens. at TRINITY, Feb. 27, 1864. S. of [Sir] Charles [Chairman of the London School Board]. B. July 24, 1845, in London. School, City of London. Matric. Michs. 1864; 2nd Winchester reading prize, 1866; Scholar, 1867; B.A. (13th Classic) 1868; M.A. 1871. He then studied Theology at New College, London.
• Occupation: Congregational Minister, by 1871. 4 He was the Minister of Common Close Congregational Chapel, Warminster, Wilts., 1871 and Secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, 1874-84. He was the author, 'The Companions of Our Lord; Memoirs of Sir C. Reed'.
• Residence: Longleat, Hornsey Lane, Middlesex, at the time of his death in July 1884. 5 He had previously lived at 6 Northamton Villas, Seven Sisters' Road, Stoke Newington, Middlesex.
• Probate: by Ailie Elizabeth Reed (his widow) and Andrew Holmes Reed (of 4 Fann Street, London, type founder, his brother), 19 Aug 1884, Principal Probate Registry. 5 His estate was valued at £13,592 11s 3d. His will had one codicil.
Charles married Ailie Elizabeth Ropes, daughter of William Ropes and Helen Hall, on 6 May, 1876 at Avranches, France 11. (Ailie Elizabeth Ropes was born 16 May 1848 in St Petersburg, Russia 6 7 8 and died on 16 Jul 1931 in Islington Registration District 5 9.)
