• Occupation: publican, at the time of the census in June 1841. 491 He was by then operating a public house at Market Street, Nottingham with his wife and six children.
• Occupation: victualler, at the time of the census in March 1851. 492 He was by then a widower, living at 11 Market Street, Nottingham with two daughters and two servants.
• Residence: 4 Arboretum Terrace, Nottingham, by the time of the census in April 1871. 493 He was then described as a Gentleman and was lodging in an apartment house.
