Baptism Notes:
Shown as the daughter of William Frederick Wallett, occupation "Rider", and his wife Florence May Lillo, giving
the address Stuwer Strasse 29, Vienna II. She was baptised by Rev William Henry Hechler, Chaplain to His Britannic Majesty's Embassy in Vienna, who added a
note "at the Barnum & Bailey Show". The previous entry (March 13) is for the infant son of Robert Sulyard Bigsby "Superintendent at Barnum and Bailey in
the Rotunda", giving the address Stuwer Strasse 17. The Stuwer Strasse is near the Rotunda, which burnt down, like the Crystal Palace of which it was the Viennese
equivalent, in the 1930s.
An advertisement for the circus in the Viennese daily, the Neue Freie Presse, from March 13 1901 shows that Barnum and Bailey had already
been performing in the Rotunda for 8 weeks by the time of the Wallett Baptism.
