• Occupation: circus equestrian, at the time of the US Federal census in 1920. ⁷⁴ He was then living with his wife, her parents and the extended family at Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina, USA.

• Occupation: police officer. ⁴⁵⁶ He was then living with his wife and two children of Dave Loughlin, one of whom (Ruth) is described as his adopted daughter. There are aso four lodgers, all performers and a groom in the household. They are apparently living next door to David C Loughlin, his brother-in-law, and his family.

Edward married Edith Castello Loughlin, daughter of David Castello Loughlin and Ada Wallett, circa 1913.⁴²⁹ (Edith Castello Loughlin was born on 18 Jul 1891 in North Carolina, USA ^{430,431,432,433,434} and died on 1 Oct 1971 ⁴³⁵.)
