He was then acting as head of household in the absence of his parents who were in Folkestone, Kent. • Residence: George Street and, later, Portland House, Warsop, Notts, between circa 1889 and 1891. 10 • Occupation: bank clerk, at the time of the census in April 1891. 11 He was then living with his wife, two children and two servants at Portland Villa, Sherwood Road, Worksop. • Residence, by 1893 and in 1895, Chilwell, Notts. 10 In 1893, his residence was described as "New Chilwell". • Occupation: bank cashier, at the time of the census in March 1901. 12 He was then living with his wife, five children and two servants at Elm Avenue, Beeston. Based on his youngest daughter's birthplace, the family appear to have moved here in about 1897. • Probate, 28 Jan 1930, London, St Giles Registation District. 13 He left £869 and was living at 44 Coden Dr, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex at time of his death. Basil married Emily Catherine Potter, daughter of Alfred Potter and Catherine Streets, on 12 Nov 1888 in Beeston Parish Church, Notts.1 2 (Emily Catherine Potter was born circa 1865 in Keyworth, Notts 14 15 16 17 and died after Nov 1938 18.) |
