• Occupation: hosier's assistant, at the time of the census in April 1891. ⁶³ He was then living with his wife and three children at Moorgate, Beeston, Notts

• Occupation: hosiery warehouseman, at the time of the census in March 1901. ⁶⁴ At that time he was living at Fiskerton cum Morton, Notts with four of his children; his wife and two other of their children were at Whiston, Lancashire.

Thomas married Mary Ann Thornhill, daughter of William Riley Thornhill and Eliza Wibberley, on 30 Sep 1879 in Beeston Parish Church.⁶⁰ (Mary Ann Thornhill was born on 7 Jul 1859 in Beeston, Notts ⁶ and was baptised on 31 Jul 1859 in Beeston Parish Church ⁷.)
