• Occupation: solicitor's managing clerk, by the time of census in April 1881. ²¹⁷ when he was living with his second wife and their two young children at St John's Grove, Beeston

• Residence: St Johns Grove, Beeston, at the time of the census in April 1891. ²¹⁸ He was, by then, widowed for a second time and living with his two older daughters and two children of his second marriage. He continues to be described as a solicitor's clerk

Robert married Ellen Miller.

Robert next married Louisa Ward on 10 Sep 1877 in St Saviour, Nottingham.¹⁵ (Louisa Ward was born circa 1847 in Birmingham ²¹⁷ and died Q2 1889 in Basford Registration District ²¹⁹.)
