• Occupation: Mariner.

• Residence: 13 Spring Bank, Kinston-upon-Hull, Yorks, at the time of the census in Aprl 1861. ⁴⁹⁹ he was by then described as a retired tailor and was living with his wife, dauglter in law and a servant.

John married Margaret Giles on 23 Jan 1812 in Hull, St Mary, Lowgate.¹⁰ (Margaret Giles was born circa 1792 in Hull, Yorks ^500,501 and died on 3 Nov 1872 in Thornton, Yorks ¹⁰.)
