  Noted events in his life were:

• Occupation: comedian, at the time of the census in March 1851. ⁵¹⁷ He was then living with his wife and a daughter, Eliza Ann in a travelling caravan in the Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland.

• Occupation: coal miner, at the time of the census in April 1861. ⁵¹⁸ He was then living at Barrington St, Monkwearmouth, Durham with his wife and five children.

• Occupation: engineer on a screw steamer, in 1882 at the time of his daughter's marriage. ⁵¹⁹

George married Eliza Ann Pinder on 8 May 1843 in Nottingham (St Marys).²⁹ (Eliza Ann Pinder was born circa 1813 in Liverpool ^520,521.)
