The Genealogy of the Family of William F Wallett, "The Queen's Jester"
William F Wallett became famous in his lifetime for his circus and clown acts, and his memory has lived on in these circles to this day - in particular because of his adoption of the title "The Queen's Jester", following an appearance before Royalty at Windsor. In the latter part of his life, he lived in Beeston where he died in 1892. Several of his brothers
and their descendants also played pioneer roles in circus history, both in the UK and elsewhere in the world, notably America where they were associated with the Barnum & Bailey and other circuses. Ada Wallett, the Jester's great-niece, settled in America where she performed as "The Great Zazell", married David Castello Loughlin and became part
of his family equestrian act.
