• Occupation: draper employing four men, at the time of the census in March 1851. ²⁷⁹ He was then still living at Long Row, Nottingham, with his wife, unmarried sister, three adult children, an apprentice, a journeyman who was probably assisting in the shop and a domestic servant.

James married Sarah Neville, daughter of Living and Living, on 25 Jan 1816 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire.²⁷⁵ (Sarah Neville was born circa 1784 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire ^280,281,282 and was baptised on 6 Jun 1784 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire ²⁸³.)
